Bring the House Down with a Karaoke Machine at Your Next Party
It doesn’t matter if you buy a karaoke machine or rent one, just having a karaoke player available at a party can make the difference between a party everyone enjoys and a party where guests can’t get to the door fast enough. The machines have come a long way from a tape player and tiny TV monitor built into a boom box. Many are high-tech rigs, with outputs for multiple TV's as well as good sounding backing tracks. Want your party to be a hit; here are a few ways to get your hands on a machine:
1. Rentals
If you only want a karaoke machine for a one-night party, renting from a local rental company is your best choice. Sometimes you can get a rental package that includes quality microphones, a large selection of music, and lights. The more songs you get, the better party you will have because there is music to fit every guests’ tastes.
2. Buy
As previously stated, karaoke machines are different today; you can get a machine that plays special CDs with matching lyrics on your television screen. The initial cost of a karaoke machine and a couple of CDs isn’t that expensive, but it can be costly to build up a large selection of music. The players themselves range in prices; this price depends on the number of video outputs, the type of inputs used, and special vocal effects. Some of the new karaoke systemse will play files either burned off the computer or through a built in USB port hooked up to a portable storage device such as a flash driver or portable hard drive all from special websites that provide Karaoke songs for people to use. Most standard players are sold with a pair of low-end microphones although they are compatible with better microphones; in fact, it may be worth the investment to upgrade if you are serious about karaoke or want to host multiple parties. Moreover, better microphones last longer.
3. Buy a Gaming System
The hot game systems that are out now, including the Wii, PlayStation 3 and X-box 360 all have games that are essentially Karaoke. Because these games typically come bundled with a microphone, they are very affordable in costs, especially if you already own the console. There are however a few downsides, like the limited selection of songs. Moreover, the microphones bundled with these games are low-end and low-quality. They must be replaced with other microphones designed for the game system and the selection is limited. While good for a once off party, this option is least desirable when it comes to more frequent Karaoke parties.
