Where to hook up RPM wire on a 70 chevelle?
I bought a tach that i hooked up on a 70 chevelle malibu but the wire (green) that needs to be hooked up to the distributor doesnt have a slot for it..my tach comes with an inductive reader to be hooked up on the spark plug wires but when i rev the car it lags a bit..wat can i do to fix this or where can i hook up the other wire(green) to the distributor?
Answer:
You have to splice that wire into the wire going into the distributor by shaving the insulation back and wrapping the tach wire around the bare spot you have shaved back and then wrapping some electrical tape around it. An auto parts store may sell the prong you speak of in the section that sells electrical connectors where you can cut both wires and crimp them into a prong that fits the distibutor. But the cheap easy way to do it is how I said.
