What Sealer To Use On Untreated Lumber?
My senior aged neighbor lady had a handicap ramp built.I noticed the builder used untreated indoor 2x4 lumber.WHY? I don't know.Anyway can you all recommend a sealer/wood protector etc.to use on this wood.

Answer:
You can buy wood perservative in one gallon cans at almost all home improvement stores. When the wood is dry, brush on a liberal coating of the preservative with a brush.
Hand treated wood isn't as good as pressure treated wood, but should last about 12 yrs. on the average, before needing another coating.
