Credit card fraud and identity theft are huge problems in the United Kingdom, and affect tens of thousands of people every year.

In the instance of identity theft, the best piece of advice would be to properly dispose of all personal documentation, shredding or burning these documents are the best ways to ensure they can't be used for fraudulent purposes. Even if you get mail for pre-approved credit cards or applications for bad credit credit cards you should make sure they're properly disposed of, as thieves can use these to open fake credit accounts in your name.
You should also absolutely make sure you're careful with your credit or debit card PIN number. Don't ever write them down and keep them in your wallet or bag, and never store them on your phone. Say for example you lost your bag or it was stolen, a criminal would have all needed information for them to clear out your bank account. If possible, you should just try and remember your pin. I recently bought a SanDisk card reader and a 4GB card from verizon wireless. Now I'm trying to upload my pictures to my Mac computer. I put the card into the card reader and connected it to a USB and into my computer, but nothing popped up on the desktop. Any ideas on where I find the folder with my photos in it or how to download them to my computer?

Open a Finder window and look in the sidebar. If you see the name of your computer, click on it and all things connected to your mac will appear.
If it's not there, make sure that the thing is on.
